Late 18th Century Wooden Carving of Barong
Bali, Indonesia, 18th/19th century.
Carved as in flight, with large wings, and wearing and elaborate crown, the face with bulging eyes beneath intricate eyebrows, large canine fangs, and a curling lion's mane, the ears with large leaf shaped earings, the whole carved on a slanting base decorated in relief with floral designs.
