Short French Artillery Sword, M1832

Short French Artillery Sword, M1832 Also called ‘Glaive’ with heavy gilt bronze hilt and small horizontal guard in one piece. The grip with stepped scale pattern and relief of a raised rooster on the pommel. This distinctive steel ‘Gladius’ type has a double edged blade with twin and single fullers on each side. The sword has a bronze mounted black leather scabbard. Kort Frans Artillerie Zwaard, M1832 Zgn. ‘Glaive’ met massieve bronzen greep en brede, dubbelsnijdige kling. In zwartlederen schede met messing monturen. Lengte: 62 cm. [II-] V
