French Sabre for Light Cavalry, early 19th century

French Sabre for Light Cavalry, early 19th century Gilt bronze hilt with three-pronged knucklebow guard and long-tailed bronze cap. Wooden grip covered with waxed calfskin and twisted copper wire. The slightly curved single edged blade with rounded back. This sword comes with a black leather sheath with two bronze fittings. Frans Sabel voor Lichte Cavalerie, ca. 1810 Met verguld bronzen beugelgevest, gevormd door vier ‘S’-vormige beugels. Houten greep, gewikkeld met leer, gevlochten koperdraad en bekroond met een vlakke bronzen pommel, verbonden met lange bronzen beugel aan het ovale pareergevest. Lichtgebogen enkelsnijdige kling met ronde rug. In zwart lederen schede met bronzen monturen. Lengte: 79 cm. [II] V
