French Napoleonic Sword for Light Cavalry AN XI, ca. 1810

French Napoleonic Sword for Light Cavalry AN XI, ca. 1810 Sabre de Cavalerie Légere, Modèle AN XI. Gilt bronze knucklebow hilt with three-pronged guards and long-tailed bronze cap and stamped with marks. The wooden grip with grooves and covered with sheepskin and small bronze olive mountings. Long and curved single edged blade with rounded back, also stamped with marks. The sword comes with a ‘white’ metal sheath with two iron suspension rings. Frans Napoleontisch Sabel voor Lichte Cavalerie, ca. 1810 ‘Sabre de Cavalerie Légere, Modèle AN XI’ Met verguld bronzen beugelgevest, bestaande uit drie ‘S’-vormige beugels. Houten greep, gewikkeld met leer versierd met een olijfvormig applique en gevlochten koperdraad. De greep bekroond met een vlakke bronzen pommel, verbonden met bronzen lange beugel aan de pareerbeugel. Het sabel met een lange gebogen, enkelsnijdige kling, gemerkt met kleine productiestempels, brede geul, dubbelsnijdige spits en vlakke rug. In blank metalen schede met bronzen monturen en twee ijzeren draagringen. Lengte: 101 cm. [II] V
