French Sword for Officer of the National Guard, M1821

French Sword for Officer of the National Guard, M1821 Sabre d'Officier de la ‘Garde Nationale’, Modèle 1821- a la Montmorency Signed on the back of the blade: ‘Coulaux & Cie, Klingenthal’. Bronze knucklebow-hilt with guard plate and decorated with leaves and flowers and bronze grip cap. Horn grip with twisted copper wire. Curved single-edge blade with a flat back. The sword comes with a ‘white’ metal sheath with one suspension ring. Franse Sabel voor Officier der Nationale Garde, M1821 Sabre d'Officier de la ‘Garde Nationale’, Modèle 1821- a la Montmorency Signed on the back of the blade: ”Coulaux & Cie, Klingenthal”. Bronzen beugelgevest met ‘S’-vormige zijbeugel en ovale pareerplaat, versierd met reliëf. De hoornen greep gewikkeld met gevlochten koperdraad en bronzen pommelkap. Gebogen kling met brede geul en vlakke rug. Het sabel in blank metalen schede met draagring. Lengte: 100 cm. [III]
