Rare Pre WW1 British Navy Midshipman’s Dirk Sword

Rare Pre WW1 British Navy Midshipman’s Dirk Sword, Late 19th Century. Guilded brass hiltgrip with long, brass cap, ending in a lion’s head. Small horizontal guard with crowned anchor in relief at the quillon block. The grip covered with rayskin and twisted copper wire. Straight, single-edged blade, tip, with two fullers. This sword comes with a leather scabbard with brass mounts and two lugs. Zeldzaam 19e eeuws Brits Marine Zwaard voor Adelborst Gevest met vergulde en geringde leeuwenkop met lange manen en pareerstang met ‘eikel’-vormige uiteinden en in het midden een reliëf van gekroond anker waaromheen een lauwerkrans. De houten greep gewikkeld met roggenhuid en gevlochten zilverdraad. Korte, rechte enkelsnijdige kling met vlakke rug. In een zwartlederen schede met messing monturen, twee draagringen waaraan smalle draagriemen. Lengte: 60.5 cm. [II-]
