BIOGRAPHY
Andrés Salgo studied architecture in Budapest and at the École Supérieure des Beaux- Arts in Paris. He fled for fascism to Mexico. Here he mainly painted large- Scale wall pictures, solved mural tasks and created expressive panel pictures (‘Don Quixote’ series). His mural works were characterized by neo - primitive simplification and the monumentality of the great generation of Mexican artists. His art criticisms and studies have appeared in Mexican newspapers and magazines. He was president of the National Group of Mexican Painters and Sculptors. In 1965, he presented his works in the exhibition hall of the Institute of Cultural Relations. Some of his works and one of his folders went to the MNG and his hometown.
