A pair of white-glazed porcelain holy water fonts, each molded in high relief. One font depicts Christ crucified on a cross with a stylized rocaille border, while the other shows the Madonna and Child under an architectural canopy with Gothic arches. Both fonts are designed with basins shaped as scalloped shells and are fitted with suspension holes at the top. The reverse of each bears the printed factory mark of Petrus Regout & Co., Maastricht.

Een paar witgeglazuurde porseleinen wijwaterbakken, elk gemodelleerd in hoog reliëf. Eén bak toont de gekruisigde Christus binnen een gestileerde omlijsting in rocaillevorm, de andere de Madonna met Kind onder een architectonisch baldakijn met gotische bogen. Beide zijn voorzien van schelpvormige wijwaterbakjes en ophanggaten aan de bovenzijde. De keerzijde is gemerkt met het gedrukte fabrieksmerk van Petrus Regout & Co., Maastricht.

Petrus Regout (1801–1878) founded the Petrus Regout & Co. ceramics factory in Maastricht, which became one of the major producers of earthenware and porcelain in the Netherlands during the 19th century. Religious objects such as holy water fonts were among their popular offerings, often intended for private devotion in Catholic households. The use of white-glazed porcelain reflects the influence of French and Belgian devotional art on Maastricht production at the time.
