A Double-Sided File Rack, Pierre Jeanneret (1896–1967)

PIERRE JEANNERET (1896-1967) A double-sided file rack, circa 1957-58. Sissoo; model PJ-R-27-A. Marked in white paint: ‘AD L.I.B. 52’ Double-sided low cupboard known as "Pigeonhole Rack" in solid sissoo (Indian rosewood). Six compartments for books, four in the centre and two at the side higher up. Legs formed by the body's two side panels. Dimensions: Height 28 in. (71.2 cm.), Width 48 1/8 in. (122.2 cm.), Depth 14 ¾ in. (37.5 cm.). ESTIMATE: £ 5,000 – 6,000 PROVENANCE: Chandigarh, India Acquired from the above by the present owner. LITERATURE: cf. E. Touchaleaume and G.
