A Brass Double Pillar Field Microscope. Circa 1880. A double pillar monocular Microscope, with black lacquered base, rectangular stage, main focus by rack and pinion and fine focusing knob on the limb, and gimballed mirror attached to the limb, in associated wooden case. These type of microscope were designed for botanists and other scientists to bring with them into the field, and can be screwed into the lid of the wooden case for stability. Measurement: H. 23/29 cm. Estimate: 100-200
