Porcelain figure of the crowned Madonna holding the Christ Child, standing on a domed and scrolled base with raised foliate and line decoration. Both figures wear white garments embellished with gilded stars and highlights. The Madonna presents a red heart in her right hand, while the Child raises his hand in blessing. Rich gilt detailing is applied throughout, with soft polychrome painting to the facial features and hair. Underside inscribed.

Porseleinen beeld van de gekroonde Madonna met het Christuskind, staand op een gewelfde, opengewerkte voet met reliëfdecor van bladeren en lijnen. Beide figuren dragen witte gewaden met vergulde sterren en accenten. Maria toont een rood hart in de rechterhand, terwijl het Kind de hand opheft in zegenend gebaar. Rijkelijk verguld en fijn gepolychromeerd in gelaat en haar. Onderzijde met inscriptie.

This figure belongs to the tradition of Vieux Paris porcelain, a term used for porcelain made by numerous small manufacturers in and around Paris during the late 18th and 19th centuries. Known for their elegant modelling and lavish use of gilding, these pieces were often made for domestic devotional use. The crowned Madonna and Child motif reflects Marian veneration in the French Second Empire period.
