French "Boissy" Pinfire Target Pistol with Long Barrel

French "Boissy" Pinfire Target Pistol with Long Barrel Ca. 1860. A highly decorative single shot pin-fire pistol with a very long smooth barrel, smooth bore in 10.6mm (11 calibre). Fine engraved breech and trigger guard with decorative flowers, foliage and the maker’s name ‘BOISSY’ engraved under the barrel on the right side. Wooden factory carved ebony grip with iron grip plate signed “R. Gonon, Avignon”. Total length: 42.5 cm. Frans "Boissy" Penvuur ‘Salon’ Pistool, ca. 1860 Zgn. ‘doelen’ pistool met lange, gladde loop in Kal. 11mm voor schieten op doelen binnenhuis. Gegraveerde slotkast en trekkerbeugel. Op de slotkast onder de loop gestempeld: ‘BOISSY’. Gecanneleerde palissanderhouten kolf met ijzeren kolfplaatje waarop gemerkt: “R. Gonon, Avignon”. Total lengte: 42.5 cm. Lengte: loop: 30.5 cm. [I]
