Biscuit Porcelain Figure of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Vieux Andenne

Standing figure of Christ displaying the Sacred Heart, rendered in unglazed white biscuit porcelain with finely modelled drapery and facial detail. Christ is shown pointing to the heart radiating from his chest, a symbol of divine love and compassion. The figure rests on a rounded plinth with moulded scrollwork.

Staand beeld van Christus met het Heilig Hart zichtbaar op de borst, uitgevoerd in ongeglazuurd wit biscuitporselein met fijn gemodelleerde plooival en gelaatstrekken. Christus wijst met één hand naar het stralende hart als symbool van goddelijke liefde en mededogen. Geplaatst op een afgeronde voet met gemodelleerd rolwerk.

Vieux Andenne refers to the porcelain produced in the Belgian town of Andenne, known for its white faience and biscuit porcelain from the late 18th through the 19th century. Devotional figures of Christ, the Virgin, and various saints were widely made for domestic altars and religious institutions.
