West, 31 Cockspur Street, Charing Cross”, with rectangular mechanical stage, main focus by rack and pinion and fine focusing knob, and gimballed mirror attached to the limb, in associated wooden case. Measurement: H. 43 cm. catalogue Note: This microscope by F. L. West is patterned after the bar-limb design first introduced by Andrew Ross in 1843. It has been stated that West sold Ross instruments under his own signature. Estimate: 150-300
