Biscuit Porcelain Figure of Saint Anthony of Padua with the Christ Child, Vieux Paris or Andenne
France or Belgium, late 19th century.
Finely modelled devotional group in unglazed white biscuit porcelain, showing Saint Anthony of Padua kneeling in adoration before the Christ Child. The saint wears a Franciscan habit with knotted cord and gazes reverently toward the Child, who sits on an open book atop a classical pedestal and touches the saint's face in affection. The base is moulded with scrollwork and lattice ornamentation. Impressed number to the underside.

Fijn gemodelleerde devotiegroep in ongeglazuurd wit biscuitporselein, met voorstelling van Sint Antonius van Padua knielend in aanbidding voor het Christuskind. De heilige draagt een franciscaner habijt met koord en kijkt eerbiedig naar het Kind, dat op een open boek op een klassieke zuil zit en de heilige teder aanraakt. De voet is voorzien van rolwerk en tralieornament. Onderzijde met ingedrukt nummer.
