Porcelain Figure of the Madonna and Child
Germany, circa 1900.
Porcelain sculpture of the crowned Virgin Mary holding the Christ Child on her left arm. The figures are finely modeled with hand-painted features and softly blushed cheeks. The Madonna is dressed in a white robe and veil with light yellow lining, decorated with small raised gilt floral patterns and a broad gilt border along the mantle. She holds a golden orb in her right hand, while the Child raises his right hand in blessing. The oval base features moulded and gilt floral decoration in relief and is edged with a gilt band.

Porseleinen beeld van de gekroonde Maagd Maria met het Christuskind op haar linkerarm. De figuren zijn fijn gemodelleerd met met de hand geschilderde gelaatstrekken en zacht gerode wangen. Maria draagt een wit gewaad en sluier met lichtgele voering, versierd met kleine verhoogde vergulde bloemmotieven en een brede vergulde rand langs de mantel. In haar rechterhand houdt zij een gouden wereldbol, terwijl het Kind zijn rechterhand opheft in zegenend gebaar. De ovale voet is voorzien van gemodelleerd en verguld bloemendecor in reliëf en afgewerkt met een vergulde rand.
