French Officer's Saber with Rotating Guard of the Light Cavalry, Model 1795-1812 Sabre d’Officier à Garde tournante de Cavalerie Légère, Epoque Révolutionnaire. Gilt bronze knucklebow guard with two branches with serrated edges, including the main branch embellished with a secondary branch which unfolds for better protection of the rider. With steel spring to block the side branch. The wooden handle wrapped in filigree leather and twisted copper wire. Slightly curved blade, flat back, counter edge and hollow sides. This sword will be sold without sheath. Sabel voor France Officier der Lichte Cavalerie, M1795-1812 ‘Sabre d’Officier à Garde tournante de Cavalerie Légère, Epoque Révolutionnaire’ Met verguld en scharnierend dubbel bronzen beugelgevest, de zijkanten ‘gekarteld’. Vlakke pommel, houten greep, omwikkeld met zwart leder en gevlochten koperdraad. Licht gebogen, enkelsnijdige schede met vlakke rug. Sabel wordt verkocht zonder schede. Lengte: 90 cm. [III] V
