Arched wall-mounted ceramic tile depicting the crowned Madonna in high relief, with serene downcast gaze and a halo of twelve golden stars set against a deep blue circular field. Modelled in white-glazed ceramic with added gold accents to the crown, neckline, and stars. The reverse is plain with integrated hanging device. The lower left corner bears the incised monogram of Giel Johannes Guillaume Keulen, chief modeller of De Sphinx.

Gebogen wandtegel van keramiek in hoogreliëf met een voorstelling van de gekroonde Madonna, met neergeslagen blik en een stralenkrans van twaalf gouden sterren tegen een diepblauwe cirkelvormige achtergrond. Gemodelleerd in witgeglazuurd keramiek met goudaccenten op kroon, halslijn en sterren. Achterzijde onbewerkt, voorzien van geïntegreerd ophangsysteem. Linksonder voorzien van het ingekraste monogram van Giel Johannes Guillaume Keulen (1900–1960), hoofdmodelleur van De Sphinx.

Giel Keulen was instrumental in shaping the religious ceramic output of Petrus Regout’s Sphinx factory in Maastricht during the mid-20th century. This tile exemplifies his clean, stylised devotional aesthetic, rooted in modernist clarity while remaining deeply liturgical in tone. The crowned Madonna, adorned with stars, echoes the iconography of the Regina Coeli and Immaculata, particularly resonant in post-war Marian devotion and celebrations of the Assumption and the Queenship of Mary. This type of tile was commonly used in Dutch Catholic interiors, schools, or Marian altars.
