French Sword for Officer of the Light Cavalry, M1822

French Sword for Officer of the Light Cavalry, M1822 Le sabre de cavalerie légère modèle 1822 Signed on the back of the blade: “… d’Armes de Châtellerault 1890=Officer de Cavarie Lre Mle 1822= Ent A. Creuèlle”. Bronze knucklebow-hilt with two-pronged guards, guard plate and grip cap. All over decorated with leaves and flowers. The horn grip with twisted copper wire. Curved and single edged blade with wide fuller and a flat back. This sword comes with a ‘white’ metal sheath with one suspension ring. Franse Sabel voor Officier der Lichte Cavalerie, M1822 Le sabre de cavalerie légère, modèle 1822 Gegraveerd op de vlakke rug: “… d’Armes de Châtellerault 1890=Officer de Cavarie Lre Mle 1822= Ent A. Creuèlle”. Bronzen beugelgevest met twee extra zijbeugels en ovale pareerplaat, versierd met reliëf. De hoornen greep gewikkeld met gevlochten koperdraad en bronzen pommelkap. Gebogen kling met brede geul en vlakke rug. Het sabel in blank metalen schede met draagring. Lengte: 112 cm. [II+]
